The Yogini Project has facilitated translations into 7 languages of the film “Blessings: The Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet“
The Yogini Project has over the past several years facilitated translations of the extraordinary film “Blessings: The Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet” into 7 languages.
All 7 languages are already complete: French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. Final subtitling is proceeding, with three languages complete, and four languages in their very final steps.
This “Blessings: International Version” featuring 8 subtitle tracks (including English) is intended to be released via online streaming and on-demand DVD distribution to Dharma organizations, centers, and individuals.
This project is on HOLD until we have a new version of the original film to lay our subtitles in.
The original filmmakers hard drive with the original master of Blessings failed without a backup. As such, at present there is only the previously hard-coded subtitled master file to work with. The original filmmakers are not in a position to remake the subtitled scenes from the original tapes. As such, at present we do not have a film file in which to lay our completed translations in.
We have tested out options with post-production houses in Europe and the States to find one that can professionally, minimally blur the hard-coded subtitles on the current version of Blessings to overlay our 7 translations over for online streaming and DVD creation. The results have provided unsatisfactory.
Until a sponsor comes forward to fund the time intensive remaking of the master film file from original tapes, this project will be on hold.
Any interested potential sponsors should contact us direct.
To proceed we would need the following:
- Sponsor(s) for complete film remaking
- Chariot Videos willingness to release to professional editors
- Approved professional editor or post-production house
- Final subtitling
The Yogini Project recorded a special feature – a 15 minute short film – “White Lotus” with Tsoknyi Rinpoche on the remarkable transmission of this lineage to Nepal through the emergence of the Tsoknyi Nepal Nuns. This feature will be included with subtitles in translated versions of this “Blessings” as well as be released by itself online during summer 2016 to support Rinpoche’s ongoing work in Nepal.
Your timely support goes a long way to support the production of these landmark translations for women and men around the globe.
