Tara Of Great Peace

Arya-mahashanta-Tara, Tara of Great Peace (Zhi ba chen mo’am dge legs ster ba’i Sgrol ma)

Homage to her, blissful, virtuous, and peaceful mother,
Whose activity is nirvana’s sphere of tranquility.
By the flawless expression of SOHA and OM,
She overcomes even the greatest of evils.

On a white lotus, from NI appears White Tara. Her three right hands hold rosary, show wish-granting gesture and hold club. Her three left hands hold lotus, water-jug and book. In the [corresponding] praise it is explained that the book rests on a lotus. The lord of the type is Amithaba.

She is called Tara the Great Peaceful One and is white in color. There’s an external washing or purifying ritual that goes with her practice, and her specialty is to pacify negative karma. The verse praises her speech and her dharmakaya mind. All her actions are done within the peace of nirvana.
