Tara Victorious Ushnisha

Arya-tathagatoshnishi-Tara, Tara Victorious Ushnisha (Gtsug tor rnam rgyal ma’i Sgrol ma)

Homage to you her, who moves in endless victory
The crown jewel of the Tathagatas.
Having obtained all transcendent virtues,
The sons of the Jinas take her support.

On a lotus and moon, from TUT appears Yellow Tara with one face and four arms. Her right hands are in the wish-granting gesture and hold a rosary. Her left hands hold water-jug and club.

She’s gold in color, and her specialty is to neutralize poison, increase life, and counteract premature death. She can stop car accidents and untimely death — anything that might cause us to die before our full life span, as conditioned by our previous karma, has been lived out.

This Tara symbolizes the forces that can subdue negative events in this life, thus bringing us happiness while we’re still in cyclic existence. She also symbolizes the wisdom that eliminates the two obscurations — afflictive obscurations and cognitive obscurations — that prevent attaining our ultimate aims.
