Marcia Dechen Wangmo
Marcia Dechen Wangmo, or Marcia Binder Schmidt, is a renown Buddhist translator, editor, writer, and wise yogini who has been studying, and practicing the Buddhadharma for over 30 years. After meeting the great Dzogchen Yogi, Tulku Urygen Rinpoche, Marcia moved to Kathmandu, Nepal to live at the feet of her teacher. She spent 17 years with Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and has continued to study with many great teachers.
Marcia, together with Erik Pema Kunsang established the Rangjung Yeshe Institute as well as Rangjung Yeshe Publications, making Tibetan Buddhist teachings accessible to practitioners and scholars around the world. Together they have translated and produced over sixty two titles.
Marcia has truly lived a remarkable and inspiring life and has consciously dedicated her life to the spiritual path and to helping beings through that effort. Her dedication to helping beings is evident in her most recent book “Confessions of a Gypsy Yogini: Experience through Mistakes” where she skillfully shares wisdom from the great masters she has study with and offers practices and guidance on the path.
